EPFO circular – Bulk Generation Of UAN In Certain Special Cases

EPFO HO vide circular no. WSU/Past Accumulations/E-683907/2025-26/19 dated 25.04.2025 has announced the relaxation of Aadhaar requirements for bulk generation of UANs in cases involving past accumulations remitted by Exempted PF Trusts or due to quasi judicial recovery proceedings. A new software functionality has been deployed to facilitate bulk UAN generation based on Member IDs and other available data, enabling prompt crediting of funds. However, these UANs will remain frozen until Aadhaar seeding is completed, restricting transfers or withdrawals until then. This measure aims to streamline the accounting of past accumulations while ensuring compliance with Aadhaar linkage requirements. (Approved by CPFC)
