The BOCW Welfare Boards’ responsibilities include the following:
- To provide a recipient with emergency aid in the event of an accident;
- To compensate recipients who have reached retirement age with pension payments;
- To approve loans and advances to a beneficiary for the construction of a home up to the predetermined limit and under the predetermined terms and conditions;
- To pay whatever sum judged appropriate in connection with the beneficiaries’ group insurance scheme payment;
- To provide the recipients’ children with the necessary financial aid for their education as may be required
